2PC is Oracle's Two-Phase Commit protocol.
2PC is used to ensure that all databases involved in a distributed transaction either commits or roll-back together, leaving all database involved in a consistent state.
Distributed transactions can be seen in the DBA_2PC_PENDING and DBA_2PC_NEIGHBORS dictionary views.
